Personally, I am strongly believe that Internet has harmful influences on us. When we use Internet, such as commenting on a particular issue, we are able to use anonymity to represent ourself. This means that we are not necessarily have to point out who we are. There will be less information about our identity. However, this means that, we will lack with some of self-confidence in the real world. What do I mean by this?
There are many reasons why people choose anonymity to represent themselves, but the obvious reason is because they are shy. When Internet gives them the chance to continue of using anonymity, they will not face the 'shy' issue. As a result, when opinions are needed in a meeting, they are unable to contribute as they are afraid of being known to others. Therefore, in this case, Internet has caused us to procrastinate to solve our problem and letting us to run away from solving this problem, which then affect our daily life.
Besides that, I believe that the use of Internet can lead to isolation. As we get used to use Internet in our life, we will spend most of our times with Internet. This in turn causes us to abandon face-to-face interaction where bonds and relationships with family and others can be enhanced.
In conclusion, i still strongly believe that Internet has giving us a bad influence to our lives. So what is your view?

I think that internet has good and bad influence as well, but the degree of the bad influence in us depends of how we use the internet. Hence, it is good limit ourselves in using the internet. We have to have the commitment to not browsing the page that has harmful content to us. We just use the internet in a way that it will benefit us, such as, searching data for schoolwork, etc. Thus, the bad influence in the web will not affect us.

The internet is a very reliable source in searching for information that we need. Not only that, the internet is also used for our own personal entertainment such as music, games, internet shopping etc. Without the help of the internet, people would find a lot of difficulties in finding the information that they need.

ReplyDeleteGood because it provides us with all the information that we want to with just a few clicks. It has made things so much easier for us today. Commuication between people are maintained as they are able to keep in touch via different mediums through the internet. It saves time also as we are able to find something we want within clicks and without all the troubles of going to the library to seek the information we need. Without it, i believe people would find it hard to go on with their lives today.
Bad because the world wide web is 'free', thus anyone is about to access it without any trouble. There is also freedom of speech which sometimes lead to verbal fights through forums or chatrooms. It also allows 'predators' to hunt for their preys online without been known to anyone. I believe everyone has at least receive an email before, telling you that you won something but you need to remit money over first to get your prize etc. Those are scams created by people who want to prey on those who are greedy.
I personally feel that there are both good or bad influence on the interent to a certain extend. This is because it all depends on the how the user is going to use it.
ReplyDeleteFor instances, through the interent, we are able to communicate faster with out friends or family who are at the other end of the world. It could be a good thing, yet a bad thing. It is a good thing because we can get to communicate with them very quickly and efficiently. But yet bad in the sense that we can misued it. Misued in the sense where we can neglect our studies or work and spend hours on the interenet talking.
Internet can also allow us to have a free speech on any issuse which also has it's own good and bad. For instance, it's good because we are able to communicate and understand people with different mindsets. While bad in the sense where people using annoymity can going around giving nasty comments or even defaming a person.
It is also true that people who uses the interent much more often can lead themselves to isolation or even low EQ. But it all depends on how the user is using the interenet.
Hence, whether the interent is good or bad, it all depends on how the user is putting the interent to use. Whether if it is beneficial to them or not.
I think there is always good and bad impacts on every issues. It is really up to how the user see the issues.
ReplyDeleteFor example, internet expose user to the world more easily thus this group of user are definitely more knowledgeable than those who do not use the internet. The results is they are perhaps more experience, skillful, or even more creative. While on the other hand, internet also harm user health too. For example, a person who could find all sort of entertainment and resource easily in the internet will become more reluctant to leave their cozy room and experience the actual. This sometimes result in all sort of health damaging problems.
Thus in conclusion i think internet, is more of a necessary and important resource to people in the modern world today than to say whether it is good or bad. Every issues in the modern world today have pros and cons, it is really up to how people make use of them and manage themselves. I personally think that it is always this issues that perhaps help people to learn how to control and manage themselves be it physically or psychologically better.
Social Networking website was born thanks to the internet. Those website, like Facebook, let us share photos, share notes, share videos, post comment, send message and even reminds us of birthdays. And if user still doesn't feel he/she communicate enough after using the Social Networking website, we have our trusty Instant Messenger, like MSN Messenger, giving user real- time conversation (in words or web-cam). We are connected like never before and that hasn't include smartphones.

It provide us so much convenience, and the best of all it is 24/7 in service so you could do things in advance (without queuing even). Internet influence on your decisions most of the time(example, what movie to watch and which seat).
And also I am sure we love Wikipedia and Google, they are simply good and need not much elaboration, I believe.
But what about "dirty" website, cyber-bully SPAM mails and virus? They are avoidable and won't do too much danger if a person knows how to handle them.
In conclusion, internet are good influence and if internet are bad influence, we would have not used it since the very beginning.

ReplyDeleteBasically the net provides us with any kind of information that we need to find out, or rather, a little too much so much so that we may often be sidetracked of our original task that we set out to do when we use the net. As a result, many of us will spend hours on end to do things that lead us away from the task at hand-in short, overuse of the net or addiction of feeling a strong need to use the net. On the other hand, there are simply so many things we can accomplish with the use of the Internet.
Well, when all's said and done, I think that without the net, the world would not have been as advanced as it is today. To resolve the problem of kids, even adults too these days being
addicted to the net, it's all about how well they manage and discipline themselves when it comes to using the net, probably by limiting themselves to how long they can use per day for example.

ReplyDeleteWhen people are behind the computer screen, they have the time and luxury to think and re-type whatever they wish to express to their friends or even just a random stranger. This doesn't mean that the Internet's become a bad thing, but in fact, could help prevent whatever that might have sounded "incorrect" for the first time.
In all, like what Shannon said, everything should and must be done in moderation. No matter how helpful a thing can be, it can still thoroughly abused without discipline.

They said that kids learn bad stuff in the internet since they are curious to see what it is all about they will find out some bad things on the net.Others also said that internet is addictive. It might affect your studies and work.
Internet is a huge help for distance-learning, for instance, online class. However, students misuse it. For example, Students in traditional classes might miss deadlines but they regard deadlines as real. They recognize instructor's right to set due dates while online students seem to extend the freedom to choose the time and place of their course work to every aspect of the class.
In my opinion,it all depends upon how each individuals use the internet. I have found so many good things on the net. It is very helpful to me.

ReplyDeleteIn the modern world, internet is essential for us in every aspect of our life. The information from the internet comes faster, more convinient and wider range of search as compared to going to library to flip through book by book.
However, the negative side unfortunately, no matter what it is, is always there and it is up to us to do all in our power to do our part and supervise and educate our children on safety procedures that are necessary to protect them form undesirables etc. For adults, its up to their conscience and ethics.
I agree that internet can lead people to isolation but there are also many other advantages that we gain from it. So, it cannot be totally assumed that internet has bad influence on people. Moreover, it also depends on people themselves, how they use it and how dependent they are on the internet.

In my opinion, I think internet has brought us many advantages, as an example, internet has connected us with the world. This way, we can always get what we want instantly and such that the world is our fingertip.

However, Internet also has disadvantages. Internet online game addiction could affect our real life. personally,i feel that even if the conclusion is that internet is a bad thing, majority of us would not be able to live without it.However, it can also be put to good use , such as, finding the latest update on your favorite artiste's project or the happenings around the world and ect... But nowadays, internet has been ridiculously taken advantages of , where they prey on innocent victim , spreading untrue stuff on the internet. Which eventually some lead to commiting suicide.
